FAQ
How does the Pivot System work?
It’s easy! Open – Insert – Tip – Pour Open the bottle of wine by removing the cork with a corkscrew or by unscrewing the cap. Immediately replace the cork or screwcap with the Pivot Stopper ensuring that the Stopper cap is open and that the Stopper and the neck of the bottle are both dry. To pour, insert the Pivot Device through the Stopper until it clicks into place. Tilt the bottle so the spout is over the wine glass then press and hold the button on the Device. When finished, release the button and wait for the wine to stop pouring from the spout. Bring the bottle upright and remove the Device by pulling straight up and off. Immediately close the Stopper cap.

How is the Pivot System different from other Coravin Systems?
All Coravin Systems deliver the opportunity for you to enjoy your wine the way you want to versus having to commit to the bottle. The key differences between the Pivot System and other Coravin Systems are how each works and the length of preservation each provides. With the Pivot System, you open the bottle and replace the original closure with the specially designed Pivot Stopper. The Pivot Device is then inserted through the Stopper to pour. The Pivot System works with any bottle of still wine regardless of closure type. Because the bottle has been opened, wine will remain fresh up to 4 weeks. For most everyday wines, this is plenty of time to finish the bottle, knowing your last glass will taste as fresh as the first. The Pivot System provides best-in-class preservation for under $100. All other Coravin Systems feature a Needle that is inserted through the natural cork, extracting the wine without opening the bottle. Because the bottle remains sealed, the remaining wine is preserved for years, continuing to age in bottle as the winemaker intended. For screw cap wines, these Systems can be used with the Coravin Screw Cap accessory and preserved for three months. These models are perfect for pouring special bottles, tasting bottles as they mature, or expanding your at-home wine-by-the-glass menu without worrying about when you will finish the bottle.
Why is there a Bottle Sleeve included with my system?
Bottles that are cracked or chipped can break. We provide a Coravin Wine Bottle Sleeve for safety if you are more comfortable using one.
Does Argon affect the taste of the wine?
Argon is an inert, non-reactive gas, which means it does not engage with the wine or its components. Because of this property, argon is used in Coravin's wine preservation systems to protect still wines from oxidation without altering their taste or aroma. This ensures that each pour maintains the integrity and quality of the wine.
