4 Sangria Recipes for Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer

4 Sangria Recipes for Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer

National Sangria Day is celebrated on December 20th every year. While we don’t know the origins of this particular holiday, the early versions of sangria can be traced all the way back to early Greek and Roman traditions where wine was mixed with spices, sugar, and whatever else they had on hand. In the cooler months, this beverage was warmed creating a mulled-wine-like drink.

The word sangria (unattractively) means “bloodletting” in Spanish and Portuguese – a term that can be traced back to the 1700s. History lesson aside, our ancient ancestors were onto something – something tasty and versatile.

Sangria recipes for every season

No matter the season, sangria is always a good idea. Lucky for our Coravin crew, making sangria doesn’t require the whole bottle. Next time you're craving something sweet and fruity, no need to pop the cork. Pour what you need and preserve the rest of the bottle for later. The serving sizes below are for one and the directions are simple: shake or stir and enjoy!
