Coravin cannot guarantee the quality of any wine and will not be responsible for damage or loss of any wine unless that damage or loss is found to be caused by a defective Coravin System.

Recycling

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical , sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and they understand the hazards involved. WARNING: Gas Capsules are under high pressure. Coravin Systems are designed to work ONLY with genuine Coravin Capsules. Use of none-Coravin capsules, re-use of any part of the Capsule, or connection to sources of gas other than Coravin Capsules is dangerous and may cause injury to users or others nearby. Storage
Coravin Capsules are pressurized and should be stored between -22 and 149 F, (-30 to +65 C).
Coravin Capsules contain gas under pressure, and may explode if heated.
Store in a well-ventilated place, out of direct sunlight.
Capsule Disposal
Coravin Capsules are made of recyclable materials.
Empty Capsules may be recycled according to local regulations.
DO NOT dispose of unused Capsules.

Description: This recall involves all Coravin™ 1000 Wine Access Systems. The system uses a hollow needle to penetrate a wine bottle cork and allow wine to be dispensed without removing the cork. The system is about nine inches tall and has a silver-colored, metallic tubular body with detachable black plastic capsule cup attached to the bottom and trigger on the top. A black metal handle is attached at the top of the tube and a black metal, moveable bottle clamp is attached to the front side of the tube. A long, metallic needle protrudes from the underside of the handle. The Coravin name and logo appear on the front side of the tube. The system comes with a silver-colored base and two argon gas capsules.
Incidents/Injuries: Coravin has received 13 reports of bottles breaking, including one in which a bottle burst into four pieces and resulted in an injury involving two chipped teeth and a laceration that required stitches, four in which the bottles cracked and leaked, and eight in which bottles broke into two pieces.
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wine access system and contact Coravin for a free repair kit that includes a neoprene wine bottle sleeve to contain broken glass when a bottle breaks and updated instructions and warnings. The wine access system should not be used on wine bottles with damages or flaws.
Sold at: Coravin.com and other online retailers and wine shops from July 2013 to June 2014 for about $300.
